Job Description
- Supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department.
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments, to meet reporting deadlines.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to support annual audits and tax filings.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, including training, performance evaluations, and professional development opportunities.
- Monitor cash flow, budget variances, and financial performance metrics.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as finance, operations, and human resources, to support cross-functional initiatives and strategic planning.
- Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and standards, and ensure that the organization's accounting practices remain in compliance.
- Participate in the implementation or enhancement of accounting systems and software to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 7-10 years of experience in a senior finance leadership role preferably within construction and Import industries.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, and other accounting standards.
- ERP is a must (Odoo preferred)
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and standards
- Proficient in spreadsheets, large data sets, databases, MS Office and financial applications
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Excellent English and Arabic – reading & writing.
