Job Description
Objectives of this role
- Promote awareness of the university’s mission and work
- Cultivate a network of dedicated donors and volunteers
- Spot new fundraising opportunities
- Plan fundraising initiatives to help the organization meet financial goals
- Form strong relationships with external stakeholders
- Ensure major donors are satisfied and kept in the loop.
Responsibilities
- Research individuals, corporations, and foundations that are interested in gift giving
- Effectively convey the organization’s mission, vision, and programs to potential donors
- Strategize and successfully execute fundraising campaigns
- Organize fundraising events while overseeing teams of volunteers
- Manage a budget and track whether goals are being met.
- Plan, test, and implement approved fundraising strategies and engagement strategies to reach or exceed targets;
- Set annual income projections in consultation with the top management and lead fundraising input to all organizational planning and reporting;
- Lead the retention and development strategy as a means of creating a retention culture across the organization
- Oversee the management of the grant and trust income program, supporting the senior fundraising manager as necessary and ensuring the production of compelling, high-quality proposals and reports.
- Manage an effective fundraising team that delivers fundraising income and meets set targets
- Create strategies for ongoing innovation and testing in the fundraising program
- Integration with the Programs Department to ensure a unified and impactful approach to fundraising
Job Requirements
Required skills and qualifications
- At least five years of experience holding same position .
- Previous experience at NGO is a must
- Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to lead and motivate colleagues and volunteer
- Strong attention to detail
- Passion for research
- Ability to successfully balance priorities while managing multiple tasks and planning big events
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in communications, business, public relations, or a related field
- 10-15 years of experience in leadership role in fundraising
- Certification, diploma, or similar qualification in fundraising
- Competence with donor management systems
- Experience in writing grant proposals, press releases, and fundraising letters
- Confidence in public speaking
