CRAFTSMAN-CIVIL-CARPENTER

Main Purpose of the Job · Maintaining municipal carpentry works; this includes Building items such as furniture, making repairs to the internal and external doors, all windows, and gypsum board structure. And ensuring buildings are safe.

Main Competencies required for the Position

 • Knowledge of carpentry and building maintenance.

 • Knowledge of safe operation of basic hand and power tools.

 • Knowledge of work place safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.

• Knowledge of First Aid and CPR

Main Duties / Responsibilities

• Inspect municipal buildings and facilities for needed services and repairs

• Maintain doors, windows, furniture and other items

• Maintain building interiors and exteriors

• Lay building foundations

• Finish the building and ceiling

• Perform carpentry and other related services

• Build other items as required

• Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment

• Keep a daily log of tasks

• Follow a preventative maintenance schedule

• Perform other related duties as required

Minimum qualifications / educational levels required for this position • High School Graduate
