Job Description
- Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
- Gain deep understanding of products and services, and translate complex information into simple, polished, engaging content.
- Create software documentation after a thorough collaboration with subject matter experts and technical staff.
- Disseminate technical information in easy-to-understand language for a non-technical audience.
- Write user-friendly content that meets the needs of target audience, turning insights into language for user success.
- Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
- Write and edit technical documents such as project deliverables, reports, brochures, articles, proposals, etc.
- Write and edit procedural documentation such as user guides, manuals, etc.
- Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides.
- Develop and maintain a detailed repository of reference materials and templates.
- Meet with engineers, programmers, and project managers to learn about specific products or processes.
- Assess the audience needs for whom the technical and procedural documentation is intended; adjust tone and technical terms used to meet those needs and to ensure understanding.
- Plan writing processes and set timelines and deadlines.
- Conceptualize visuals based on requirements, create images and layouts, and develop illustrations and logos using design software.
- Create and edit diagrams, charts, screenshots, and other visual aids to assist readers in understanding a product or process.
- Convert complex documentation to easy language for multiple audiences.
- Develop content in alternative media forms for maximum usability, with consistent voice across all documentation.
- Prepare a broad range of marketing collateral.
- Contribute in and manage marketing campaigns.
- Develop corporate identity, advertisements, and multimedia.
- Help other writers in creating documentation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Secondary Tasks and Responsibilities
- Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications.
- Evaluate and analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities, and develop innovative methods for improvement.
- Create and maintain the information architecture.
- Check all technical material for consistency and accuracy.
- Create and manage Change Control documentation and batch-related deviations.
- Determine the type of publication that will best serve the project requirements.
- Research product samples to fully understand product.
- Gather feedback from colleagues and customers to improve technical documents.
- Write documentation for internal teams such as developers and programmers.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or related field required.
- Two years or more of related experience required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent writing and grammatical skills in English and Arabic.
- Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail.
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures.
- Ability to present complex data in clear, concise text.
- Ability to edit and proofread work of colleagues.
- Ability to take existing and potential content and improve it.
- Have technical accuracy in writing user documentation.
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles.
- Understanding of marketing, production, website design, corporate identity, product packaging, advertisements, and multimedia design.
- Use the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic.
- Communicate complex ideas in a concise manner.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs Editors.
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign, Dreamweaver, etc.
Nice to have qualifications
- Certification in Technical Writing.
- Certification in Graphic Design or UI/UX.
- Basic familiarity with the SDLC and software development.
- Typography knowledge.
- Multimedia content development.
