Job Description
- Geophysicists monitors acquired marine geophysical data quality on-board survey vessels, processes and interprets geophysical data, integrates geotechnical and environmental data and prepares final reports.
- Will be responsible for the QC of geophysical data acquisition, liaising with the Party Chief, other survey staff and Client Representatives, maintaining logs, preliminary processing and interpretation of high resolution marine geophysical data, acquisition of seabed samples.
- Preliminary interpretation of side scan sonar, magnetometer, continuous seismic profiler and multichannel seismic data.
- A dynamic approach to work Good communication skills Attention to detail and ability to ensure work meets internal QA standards and contractual requirements.
- Proficiency in the final interpretation and reporting of a wide variety of marine geophysical data.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Geology.
- From 3 to 5 years of experience.
- Individual must possess an understanding and knowledge of geotechnical engineering, geology, and related disciplines, and must possess an overall understanding of technical requirements and field data acquisition procedures.
- Works well with others in a team environment. Ability to understand and interpret instruction and coordinate own work. Good organizational skills.
- High level of knowledge and understanding of subsea engineering associated with Oil & Gas construction and field development.
- Preparation of final reports to be issued to our clients and/or for supervising geophysicists interpreting survey data and preparing reports
- High level of knowledge of software (Coda Octopus, Sonar Wiz-Side scan).
- High level of knowledge of Equipment (Sub‑bottom, Side scan).
- Good knowledge of AUTO CAD, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
