Job Description

Job purpose:

As an electrical engineering manager, you will be responsible for supervising all team members in order to create an energetic and positive work environment. You will also be responsible for all design reviews, processes, procedures and procurement . In control of managing and leading a multi-disciplinary engineering and design review team for project construction. 

Electrical Engineering Manager manages electrical engineering activities within an organization. Implements and maintains policies and procedures for designing, testing, installing, and maintaining electronic equipment or devices. Being an Electrical Engineering Manager reviews and approves new or revised designs, testing or installation procedures as well as procurement procedures. Ensures engineering projects are properly staffed and milestones are achieved. Additionally, Electrical Engineering Manager provides guidance and professional development to team of engineers

As a member of the management team, will be responsible for communicating and coordinating with the Project Director and the rest of the  management team on all operational issues required for the program's success in accordance with the client's expectations.

 

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all electrical procurement processes and subcontractors negotiation.
  • Supervises a staff of five to seven personnel in the accomplishment of electrical engineering and operations-related tasks as needed to meet the goals.
  • Provides electrical engineering recommendations and technical support on electrical engineering reviews, strategic plans, and projects.
  • Assists with allocation, budgeting, resource planning, and scheduling.
  • Manages unit and development cost estimations and helps determine affordable and reliable material sources.
  • Ensures on-time product development by collaborating with other leaders to estimate reasonable and precise schedules and solve problems quickly.
  • Managing engineering teams and other electrical engineering staff members.
  •  Review and recommend engineer’s estimate for projects for the approval of the Head of
  • Delivery.
  • Collate and submit monthly board updates for operational & project works relating to the
  • electrical section.
  •  Monitor & provide support and guidance to the operational activities of the electrical.
  • department; reviewing systems and processes to accommodate the demanding operational
  • environment.
  • Review all planned work within the program and provide advice and guidance to the Electrical.
  • Programmed Managers to ensure work is coordinated and executed in a logical manner.
  •  Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department or Chief Executive Officer.
  • Responsible for allocation, budgeting, resource planning, and scheduling within the Electrical Engineering Department.
  • Preparation of bid packages for requesting construction proposals.
  • Assistance with commissioning.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 18 years experience as an Electrical Engineer.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience designing industrial products and/or Industrial building systems.
  • Perfect English Written and spoken.

Soft Skills:

  • Has managerial skills and can lead a team effectively to achieve the company's goals.
  • Understand and try to resolve complex technical and business issues.
  • Must be an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent problem solving and project management skills.
  • Time management skills.
  •  experience in working effectively and collaborating with a wide range of internal and external customers.
  •  Proven leadership skills with engineering staff leadership.
  •  Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills.
  •  Strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Ability to effectively manage clients.
  • Ability to effectively participate and lead marketing activities.

Specialized knowledge:

  • Professional Engineer license
  • Previous electrical engineering management experience.
  • Experience in Transmission and/or Distribution line design
  • Working experience with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD is a must.
