Job Description
- Day to day management of the logistics function, ensuring cost effectiveness and timely management of all transportation modes, using approved vendors for Imports and Exports
- Create, monitor and complete shipments on time.
- Prepare and maintain a delivery schedule and communicating to all relevant departments.
- Ensure the integrity and timely preparation and authorization of Import/Export documentation such as Bills of lading, Commercial invoices and Packing lists.
- Verification of all freight invoices.
- Select cost effective carriers and assist with the re-negotiating of terms of business/service level agreements and performance evaluation and taking corrective actions as required.
- Investigate lost/damaged product situations and creatively solve issues to mitigate losses.
- Ensure correct Inco terms are used for shipments and provide guidance to Sales and Procurement in optimal Inco term use.
Job Requirements
- University Degree (B.SC of Commerce is preferred).
- Knowledge about government regulations for importing and exporting.
- Excellent command of English.
- Familiarity with ERP System is preferred
- Very good command of MS office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good time management skills.
- Strong track record of negotiating logistics terms.
- Accountable for results with a sense of urgency to realize goals
