Job Description

The purchasing manager will support the decisions of the senior purchasing team by collecting the right information and being their eyes on the ground. Closely communicating with both sales team and purchasing team as a bridge to ensure obtaining & providing key information on time in order to strengthen the purchasing force in the company.

Responsibilities

  • Bridging the information gap between purchasing and sales teams, for orders, sales, and pricing.
  • Working on minimizing the purchasing cost with senior purchasing manager and finding the possibilities of price negotiation with supplier.
  • Collecting industry information, pricing, new product, competition, trends, and local market info.
  • Carefully paying attention to our daily sales movement on the ground to maintain the ideal stock conditions per brand. Alarming to the senior purchasing manager once a unique sales is observed and checking with sales team the reason of such sales to understand clearly what is happening on our sales momentum.
  • Checking the stock of stagnant performance (slow-moving products), sending to the sales team to find solutions. Then ensuring not being placed in purchase orders with senior purchasing manager.
  • Follow up on size by size profitability, and finding out from sales team information, and reporting to senior purchasing manager where price negotiations need to be had and where to minimize purchasing cost.
  • Following up with the sales team to provide purchase requests on monthly basis by giving them objective idea on future sales.
  • Collecting competitors’ sales information to help understanding the market situation.
  • Checking with the sales team about their feedback and the customers’ about brands and updating the senior purchasing management.
  • Reviewing the general market situation and reporting to the senior purchasing manager to have a clear understanding on dynamics of the market trend.
  • Visiting car dealers and tire dealers frequently to get popular tire size and upcoming tire size to be sold and making a list of new products.
  • Seeking for the opportunity of new products per brand and initiating the purchasing team to develop them by providing vehicle name, model, OE brand, specification, expected selling price and monthly Qty etc.
  • Searching our suppliers’ website, financial statement, news release, industry articles to find useful information for the purchasing department.
  • Managing current supplier database and updating every quarterly.
  • Managing product catalogue database and ensuring all members can access any time on cloud.

Job Requirements

Qualification

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in automotive tire industry
  • English and Arabic speaker
  • Basic Microsoft office skills
  • Strong interest in the automotive industry
