A top-ranked retail-oriented brokerage firm is seeking a skilled and investment-savvy head of equity research to assist the organization in analyzing market performance and identifying sound and viable investment opportunities. Duties for the head of equity research will include guiding clients and fund managers, analyzing investment securities, collating financial data, predicting profits and losses, interpreting company statistics, networking, designing investment strategies, analyzing market trends, updating earnings' reports, engaging with portfolio managers, developing screening tools, formulating the department's annual research plan, participating in roadshows, supervising junior analysts and assisting senior analysts with ad-hoc duties. Your talent for data mining, number-crunching, and investing will assist the organization in advising clients and prospects make informed investment decisions to increase the return on their investments, design sound investment strategies, and also to accurately predict market trends.
The ideal candidate for this role must possess excellent communication skills, extensive knowledge of investment strategies, strong analytical skills, and working knowledge of specialized investment software. Ultimately, the exceptional Head of Equity Research should provide firm investment recommendations, generate new business, perform in-depth investment research and analysis, generate reports, and keep ahead of industry trends.
Head of Equity Research Responsibilities:
Creating financial models.
Providing investment recommendations.
Researching and analyzing securities data.
Assisting senior analysts with investment research.
Supervising junior analysts and providing them with technical guidance
Meeting and interviewing managers, executives, and suppliers of listed companies.
Generating reports.
Simplifying dense and complex financial data.
Compiling financial statement analysis.
Monitoring market systems and performance.
Participating in selling investment recommendations to institutional investors through conducting roadshows, conference calls, and other means.
Assisting the organization's traders in formulating investment ideas and calls that attract client's interests.
Job Requirements
Head of Equity Research Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or statistics, preferably with a post-graduate degree and/or a professional qualification such as MBA, CFA...etc.
Proficiency in data mining software.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of stocks, bonds, and index funds.
Problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with trade jargon.
Strong research abilities.
Understanding of Egyptian financial markets.
