Job Description

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • The Exchange Program Specialist will support the Scholarship and Exchange Department in the administration of grants and service for a fee programs. 
  • They will provide scholarship assistance to program participants, as well as conduct day-to-day activities, including; certification service, and providing up-to-date information regarding the Egyptian educational system to institutional members and university representatives. 
  • They will also assist  Management in overseeing the implementation of all grant programs, and  will oversee grant program details,  
  • in order to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. 
  • The Specialist may also support other projects and departments based on shifting requirements.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with public and private academic institutions and organizations across Egypt to distribute information and coordinate inquiries about Amideast’s various exchange programs
  • Respond to inquiries from prospective exchanges programs participants in a timely manner
  • Assist in identifying, screening, and educating participants about Amideast’s various exchange programs
  • Assist in the review of applications to determine program eligibility in selecting exchange program semifinalists for interviews
  • Arrange interviews of semifinalists and coordinate interview logistics
  • Communicate with candidates to update them on application status, selection, and rejection
  • Communicate regularly with program finalists to provide updated information about program content
  • Oversee logistics for pre-departure orientations for students on selected programs, including visa applications, local orientations, and departure and travel information
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for exchange programs including making housing arrangements and other administrative tasks
  • Connect and communicate with program Alumni to update the Alumni database
  • Organize alumni events with Exchange department staff and Alumni
  • Register clients in the various in office information sessions
  • Assist the Exchange Manager and Program Coordinator in the implementation of all grant programs and coordinate program details while ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate in the development of new exchange program concept papers and proposals that serve Amideast’s mission, vision, and values for Egypt
  • Contribute to the departments’ strategic planning, goal setting and annual budget preparation as required
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely technical, statistical, and financial reports to partners, donors, and to Amideast HQ budget for all exchange programs, as required
  • Coordinate with Amideast HQ, Amideast Alexandria, and other Amideast Field offices as needed
  • Provide logistical support on the Study USA College Fair
  • Maintain active networks of local and international Organizations and Institutions involved in exchange programs to keep abreast of changes and developments in Egyptian public and private education, to identify opportunities for Amideast

Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three years of experience in a relevant field
  • Excellent written and oral English and Arabic communication skills
  • Excellent computer literacy in MS Office
  • Ability to organize and maintain large amounts of detailed information
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and accept responsibility

 

Preferred

  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
  • Previous experience/knowledge in the U.S. Education System
  • TOEIC score of 700 or equivalent
