Job Description

  • Identify sport, recreation and health initiatives and oversee strategic planning and implementation.
  • Coordinate, deliver and promote relevant activities, classes and events, often within the university.
  • Raise public awareness of health and fitness issues and promote participation in sport, particularly among students and staff.
  • evaluate and monitor activities and projects using performance indicators
  • Attend local, regional and national sports events.
  • Check venues and manage facilities.
  • Maintain links with regional and national sporting representatives and organizations.
  • Offer coaching and supervision when appropriate for staff members and students.
  • Use information and publicity to ensure people with disabilities are more aware of the sporting opportunities available to them.
  • Responsible for the total operation of assigned facility and activities.
  • Communicate and enforce policies and procedures of the GYM.
  • Oversee the check-in and eligibility of participants and staff.
  • Oversee the checkout and check-in of equipment to participants and staff.
  • Assign staff and teams to the proper field/court, oversee staff and participants, and ensure that games are running on time.
  • Monitor facility by making rounds to ensure fields/courts remain playable and safe.
  • Respond to all injuries and incidents and properly complete risk management paperwork.
  • Ensure that the set-up of the facility is complete.
  • Reserving facilities & necessary equipment.
  • Oversee sport club events which include:
    • Field and site setup/cleanup.
    • Hospitality management for visiting teams.
    • Player/fan check-in and control.
  • Assist athletic trainer with injuries.
  • Maintain contact with clubs/and other universities to ensure successful event management.
  • Perform CPR and administer first aid in case of emergencies

Job Requirements

  • 1-3 years’ Experience as a Fitness Trainer or similar role
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of diverse exercises and how to adjust plans according to each client’s needs
  • Ability to instruct and motivate people
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work with people of all fitness levels
  • Preferably certificated in CPR and first aid
