Job Description
- Prepare all GIU editorial content and constantly gather information from all possible sources.
- Maintain a strong relation with all GIU Offices/departments and faculties to stay upto-date in term of latest trends, activities and projects.
- Create and maintain an attractive well-presented GIU image through the use of social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter …etc.
- Plan and execute the annual Press/Media Plan.
- Handle press clippings of ads and PRs for competition analysis and documentation purposes
- Keep close track and view of overall similar business developments and recommend ideas for accordingly proper strategy planning .
- Prepare regular news/releases for use on Social Media, GIU Website and for appearance in local (foreign) publications.
- Ensure increased university visibility through regular interaction/traffic and prompt connectivity through the various tools.
- Monitor and report trends, traffic and findings to ensure proper prompt re-actions.
- Assist in the preparation of various reports and presentations.
- Represent the GIU during events, fairs …etc.
- Maintain a secure and an easy accessible the filing system.
- Keep an up-to-date Media/Press database.
- Handle any ad-hoc assigned duties related to the Communication & External Relations Office.
Job Requirements
- University degree in Mass Communication or Journalism, preferred with the know-how of graphic/web-design
- 2 - 5 years experience in a PR agency and/or editorial field with extensive Digital/Social Media Experience (Tools and Techniques)
- Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Web-design Know-how
- Needs to be very well-organized with multi-tasking skills
- Strong Editorial & Linguistic skills Language Skills: Arabic – Fluent (Written & Spoken) English – Fluent (Written & spoken) German is an asset
- Very attentive to details
