Job Description

  • 1. Coordinate with other Architectural Technical Office engineers to produce shop drawings with a focus on aesthetics and cost control.
  • 2. Analyze building codes, by-laws, space and site requirements, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on architectural and civil designs.
  • 3. Coordinate structural, electrical, and mechanical designs, and determine a method of presentation to graphically represent building plans.
  • 4. Resolve arising conflicts between various design components.
  • 5. Draw rough and detailed scale plans for foundations, buildings, and structures based on preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data.
  • 6. Lay out and plan interior design arrangements using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software.
  • 7. Determine and direct procedures and instructions to be followed according to design specifications and quantity of required materials.
  • 8. Obtain and assemble data to complete architectural designs, visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary.
  • 9. Review requests for information (RFI) documents to ensure correctness and completeness for sending them to the customer or engineering consultant.
  • 10. Analyze the technical implications of the architect's design concept, calculating weights, volumes, and stress factors.
  • 11. Represent architect on construction site, ensuring builder compliance with design specifications, and advising on design corrections under architect's supervision.
  • 12. Check the dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to lists of materials.
  • 13. Responsible for preparing all shop drawings.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture Engineering.
  • Construction experience is a must
  • Good command of the English language
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) is a plus.
  • Shop drawing experience is a must.
  • 5-9 years of experience in a relevant position.
