Job Description
To lead and manage the CWGC’s operational commitment in Egypt, implementing organisational policy, including that relating to the application of approved working practices, health and safety, environmental standards, and policies relating to corporate objectives. In doing so, to ensure the dignity of the cemeteries and memorials are maintained and public safety is ensured.
Responsible to the Regional Manager, and Area Management Team.
Line Manager to SHG, Head Gardeners.
Liaison with colleagues across AAA and Area Office (UK) as necessary.
Receive and assist visiting dignitaries, war veterans and relatives.
Maintain and develop contacts with local authorities, contractors or individuals where these may be of use in facilitating the Commission’s work.
Liaise with officials of all nations in the arrangements for Remembrance Day services and ensure the Commission is recognised and included at the earliest stages of planning.
Plan, forecast and manage the Egyptian country budget. Produce and sign off monthly accounts in accordance with current accounting practices and within agreed delegated regional budget and delegated financial authority.
