Job Description
- The Senior Chemical Sales Engineer is responsible for the sales and marketing of specialty chemicals to a variety of industrial and commercial customers. This includes researching potential customers, identifying their needs, presenting products and services, negotiating contracts and closing sales. The Senior Chemical Sales Engineer is also responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships, providing technical advice to customers, and promoting the company's products and services.
Job roles
- Develop a deep understanding of chemical products and applications
- Actively seek out new sales opportunities through networking and cold calling
- Contact potential clients to inform them about the company’s products/services
- Negotiate terms of an agreement with clients
- Prepare sales contracts ensuring adherence to law-established rules and guidelines
- Follow up on customer inquiries, complaints, and suggestions
- Provide technical advice to customers on product usage
- Develop strategies for increasing sales volume
- Maintain customer records in an organized fashion
- Monitor market conditions for changes in pricing, competitive offerings, etc.
- Maintain relationships with existing clients by providing support
- Travel to work sites and locations to learn about project needs and design
Job Requirements
- Proven work experience as a Chemical Engineer or similar role
- Ability to cooperate and communicate with others, especially those without a technical background
- Computer literacy to run simulations and conduct ongoing research
- Exceptional problem solving, verbal and written communication, presentation and project management skills
- Relevant training and/or certifications as a Chemical Engineer
