           Year 2 & Year 3 Class Teachers for August 2024 

Asten College is a Microsoft digital transformation school that offers the British curriculum and is strategically located in Taj City, New Cairo.

The job of a teacher at Asten College is to create an educational program and a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and is based on the commitment that all children can learn. She/he must have an understanding of, and commitment to, the mission/vision and core values of Asten College. 

Academic:

  • Creates, updates and implements curriculum map, weekly lesson plans and assessments according to Asten College standards
  • Assesses student performance and progress to ensure that they are mastering skills on a regular basis
  • Creates a measurable action plan to enhance students’ performance
  • Uses student-centered approach in teaching and learning, focusing on students’ different learning styles, multiple intelligences and differentiation inside the classroom
  • Integrates different subjects and provides meaningful and developmentally appropriate activities that make connections to real life
  • Develops the social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of students
  • Fosters cooperative social behavior to develop students’ independence, confidence and self-expression
  • Implements play and hands-on teaching styles that are developmentally appropriate
  • Implements classroom centers creatively and provides activities and materials consistently to support objectives and lesson plans
  • Responsible for the presentability and decoration of the classroom; supporting curriculum needs
  • Uses required language of instruction all the time, and encourages students to do so
  • Uses positive classroom management to implement a safe and pleasant learning environment
  • Uses a variety of activities and instructional methods (songs, stories, media, structured games, art, outdoor activities, etc..) to motivate and stimulate children’s abilities
  • Uses technology efficiently and performs related tasks in a timely manner: School E-mail, Shared Folder, Smart Board, Entrepreware, E-Learning
  • Fosters students’ critical thinking through multiple learning methodologies
  • Maintains professional and appropriate adult-child communication and interaction with students

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participates effectively in ongoing self-development and group professional development
  • Follows through all assigned school duties and deadlines proficiently, punctually and positively
  • Supervises students and ensures physical and psychological safety
  • Maintains positive and consistent line of communication with parents and provides appropriate information
  • Collaborates and communicates  with team aiming at promoting students’ academic performance and conduct
  • Maintains a professional appearance, personal hygiene and behavior that conform to the standards of school community

Job Requirements

  • Has good working knowledge of KS1& KS2 Stages Curriculums
  • Is able to provide enjoyable and challenging learning experiences for all students
  • Understands how learners develop in their most formative years and can provide appropriate support to ensure high levels of development
  • Creates language rich learning environments to ensure rapid English language acquisition and development of early reading
