Job Description

Role summary:             

Education Counsellor is responsible for providing educational guidance and assistance for students by planning schedules, determining appropriate education solutions, recommending courses and universities according to student’s academic qualifications, interests and financial abilities. Counselling should be performed with focus on promotion of GSUK Partner Universities and delivered via phone, e-mails, one-to-one meetings at the Office, at Fairs, by presenting at Schools and Universities. Education Counsellor must follow through and track the advancement of students through all the stages: enquiry, application, conversion, visa support, enrolment, study. 

The role requires a combination of academic advisor and sales/marketing skills in order to deliver a high-quality education guidance while promoting specific universities and converting inquiries into enrolments as per set targets.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead Call enquirers who registered / attended GSUK Events
  • You will also contact students via phone, email, text.
  • Meet students face to face
  • Assess Inquiries / Applications Academic background
  • Discuss Student options at lead stage based on their financial suitability
  • Attend Education Events overseas
  • Plan Recruitment Trips in target market
  • Process Applications to Partner Universities (Direct, UCAS, Online)
  • Manage your student application portfolio through regular follow up.
  • Ability to forecast your application portfolio to a final enrolment to our operations team and partner universities through CRM
  • Liaise with Visa & Compliance Team to convert students in ethical and compliant manner.
  • Ability to self-motivate and self-manage your student portfolio through positive relationship management.
  • Ability to handle targets and work with the conversion team to reach & exceed goals
  • Understand Conversion techniques to meet target.
  • Understanding of fast and timely response to increase conversion.
  • Liaise with our Partner Universities in professional and timely manner.
  • Understanding Entry requirements of studying in the UK. (Training provided)
  • Understanding the different admissions policies of our partners & universities (Training provided)
  • Ability to work within a team
  • Understanding of different cultures, and working with students / colleagues / partners of different backgrounds

To succeed as our Education Advisor, you will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or above from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Proven track record of relevant work experience; customer service or sales experience is beneficial
  • Knowledge of UK HE system
  • Awareness of UK immigration regulations, specifically Tier 4 Visa
  • Excellent written, oral communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • IT literacy, including MS Office, the internet, and social media technologies
  • Ability to work by targets
  • Ability to multi-task and deliver work to strict deadlines
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Other requirements:

  • To work a flexible schedule to meet customer’s needs
  • to work at weekends during Fairs/School Tours and other campaigns (approx. 8 Fairs/School Tours - 10 weekends a year)
  • To work extra hours if requested
  • To be accessible at weekends via phone/e-mail
  • To represent GSUK at Universities’ Conferences
  • To travel to MENA region if requested

Working hours:

  • From Sunday to Thursday; 9.00 am to 6.00 pm with 1h lunch break
