Job Description
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, enrollment, and student information.
- Assist with billing, invoicing, and processing payments from parents.
- Manage communication channels including emails, phone calls, and in-person inquiries from parents and staff.
- Support the nursery manager in scheduling appointments, meetings, and events.
- Ensure compliance with nursery policies and regulations.
Substitute Teaching:
- Step in as a substitute teacher when regular teachers are absent, following lesson plans and maintaining a safe and engaging learning environment.
- Supervise and interact with children during playtime, mealtime, and outdoor activities.
- Implement educational activities and lessons that align with the nursery's curriculum and goals.
- Foster a positive and nurturing atmosphere for children's growth and development.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure continuity in the educational program.
Child Safety and Welfare:
- Monitor children for signs of illness or injury, and provide appropriate care or assistance as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe classroom environment, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Follow established procedures for emergency situations, including evacuation drills and first aid protocols.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's well-being and any incidents that may occur.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in early childhood education or administration is preferred.
- Previous experience working in a nursery, childcare center, or educational setting is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with parents, staff, and children.
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
- First aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain certification).
- Ability to pass background checks and meet state requirements for working with children.
