An Incredible opportunity has arisen within our Technical leadership team for a Head of Technical Operations. In this role, you are accountable to design, drive, and develop Etihad Airways’ technical operations strategy to ensure the airline’s aircrafts maintain their state of airworthiness, complying to regulatory requirements, and deliver their services to Etihad’s customers on a timely and safe manner. This is a critical role to achieve the firm's growth plans, will posses significant people leadership skills with an ability to motivate the staff while holding them accountable for results.

Accountabilities

• Nominated Post Holder to the GCAA, responsible of Etihad Airways’ aircraft maintenance operation in ensuring and maintaining the airline’s fleet to the regulatory and manufacturer standards.
• Accountable to the safe, timely, and compliant routine and casualty maintenance services to Etihad Airways’ aircraft as well as other customer aircraft within the HUB and across Etihad’s network of operations.
• Responsible for the technical direction and performance development of Maintenance Control Centre to drive, deliver, and monitor maintenance requirements throughout the HUB and Etihad’s network of operations.
• Management and supervision of the safe and compliant activities in Technical Operations whilst ensuring all relevant technical and regulatory requirements are met in exercising operational management.
• Responsible for the vendor performance and management of contracted maintenance services worldwide to ensure a safe and consistent delivery of technical services on Etihad’s aircraft.   
• Design and continuously develop technical solutions to optimize operational resources in the most efficient manner and enhance productivity and safety through developed processes, tailored equipment and assets.
• Ensure the performance and execution of cabin maintenance and cleaning services deliver on Etihad and customer airline’s aircraft interior experience and cabin appearance standards.

Education & Experience

• 15+ years of experience in technical operations / aircraft maintenance and  proven experience in leading a large team of multi-cultural staff.
• Minimum Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s License or Aviation engineering degree
• Master’s degree preferred in relevant field.
• Must be able to demonstrate sound knowledge on GCAA/EASA CAR-145 and CAR-M (CAMO). 
• With relevant knowledge of other supporting functions such as stores, GSE, resource and production planning, 
• Strong business acumen and strategic mindset
• Leadership and excellent people management skills.
