Job Description

  • We are looking for those Lead Android Developers who possess a passion for pushing mobile technologies to the limits.
  • These Lead Android app developers will work with our global team of talented engineers to design and build the next generation of our mobile applications.
  • The position will be based at Union Coop's Research & Development CoE in Egypt.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Lead the team of Android developers to redevelop or build new mobile apps for the Union coop.
  • Skillfully divide your time between team leading and coding.
  • Collaborate with product managers on mobile product specs.
  • Work with UX, UI designers, backend team, and QA to deliver an intuitive and fluid user experience.
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
  • Provide informed estimates of your team's tasks.
  • Implement, Integrate, review team codes, and document functional requirements in new and existing projects.
  • Lead and mentor a mobile team in an agile development environment.
  • Working closely with team members to achieve Projects & Company objectives.
  • Designs and codes quality programs of all levels of complexity in alignment with business requirements for project and maintenance activities
  • Conducts unit testing, support during system testing and implementation activities for difficult and complex programs

Job Requirements

  • Graduated in Computer Science/ Engineering. 
  • 5+ years of experience developing native mobile for Android. 
  • proficiency in engineering effort estimation and tracking
  • Must have 2+ years of experience in a leadership position Experience with Android SDK., Java and Kotlin. 
  • Experience distributing mobile applications via public app stores and/or enterprise channels.
  • Knowledge in network third-party libraries like - Retrofit & web service integration (SOAP, REST, JSON, XML).
  • Experience with Git, bug tracking, and task management software.
  • Experience with agile methods (SCRUM and Kanban).
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
