Job Description

Select and set up the required lab equipment for tests, experiments, and analyses.
Conduct lab tests for qualitative and quantitative analyses of water and various. chemicals. Interpret test results and compile technical reports. Prepare chemical solutions and standards.
Prepare procedures and manuals for education and analysis activities using standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and assist in developing new experiments for courses.
Keep lab-equipment database (suppliers, operation cost, catalogs, working procedures, maintenance request from suppliers, calibration requirements, Lab logbook, lab equipment, lab supplies, …, etc.)
Inspect chemicals, labware, and equipment consumables and order more as required on a regular basis.
Train and support other personnel, teaching assistants, students, and researchers.
Implement the regulations, procedures, and quality control programs as well as health, environmental and safety levels required for the labs.
Work alongside lab engineers to develop improved processes and methods for the labs.
Perform financial, procurement, and asset management of lab equipment/supplies.
Keep the laboratory neat and clean.
Keep up to date with field advancements and share new knowledge with colleagues. Support continuous upgrade of experiments and design of new experiments using latest. scientific methods, techniques, and computer software.
Perform any other duties assigned to him/her within the limits, functions, and responsibilities of the position from the line manager.

Job Requirements

Bachelor degree in science / chemistry or relevant discipline.
Evidence of experience providing lab safety training
Evidence of experience in procurement of lab equipment/supplies
Strong analytical, observational, and time management skills
Effectively meets required work quality and accuracy.
Follow lab safety precautions properly.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
