Job Description

Purpose of the position

Project Manager coordinates the development of infrastructure projects within an organization. Oversees a project, and works with engineers to develop a plan, create a project time frame, allocate resources, and ensure timely completion. His duties include supervising employees in the project. He also ensures that the project is completed within the set budget and within the scope. organizes logistics, delegate work, and keep track of spending. Monitor overall progress. Additionally, he ensures the project delivers the expected results and benefits.

  • Manage one or more projects focused on our data infrastructure.
  • Identify infrastructure goals and project delivery clearly.
  • Collect and present performance information related to infrastructure projects.
  • Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
  • Planning the work to be done, getting the necessary manpower, and assigning the right duties to the right people.
  • Ensuring timely completion of the project to build client trust while avoiding unnecessary penalties.
  • Working within the budget by adequately estimating the costs and cutting unnecessary expenses.
  • Supervise the work of site managers, engineers, laborers etc., and give them guidance when needed
  • Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
  • Understanding what the client or company wants to achieve
  • Drawing up a detailed plan for how to achieve each stage of a project
  • Selecting and leading a project team
  • Determine and define scope of work and deliverables
  • Obtain necessary permits, approvals, and other regulatory prerequisites
  • Put organizational systems into place to ensure tools, vehicles, and equipment are well-maintained and schedule maintenance if needed.
  • Coordinating tasks by different people on different sites to ensure uniformity upon project completion.
  • Writing bids for tender
  • Allocating resources to ensure there is no shortage while avoiding any unnecessary delays caused by management decisions
  • Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequacies
  • Managing both internal and external risks within the project’s lifetime, such as poor planning designs, and government policies, which directly or indirectly affect the project.
  • Negotiating contracts with external contractors to reach profitable agreements.
  • Obtaining permits and licenses from appropriate authorities
  • Resolving any issues or delays.
  • Collaborating with site managers and engineers to determine the specifications of the project. 
  • Plan all project operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
  • Coordinating market and customer research
  • Provide direction over contracts and subcontracts.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • 10:15 years of experience, with at least 3 years of experience in project management as a site manager or a project manager in Infrastructure field
  • In-depth knowledge of HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene) Pipes and infrastructure projects management principles
  • Comfortable reading and understanding blueprints and drawings
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer software
  • Ability to budget, schedule, negotiate, and control costs
  • High degree of familiarity with contract and subcontract documents, terms, and conditions
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience using construction or project management software preferred
  • Familiar with rules and regulations related to drilling
  • Proven risk management experience 
  • Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
