Job Description

  • Extract relevant information from Operation team regarding required maintenance and convert in plan for execution 
  • Schedules & assign shifts and establishes work priorities to meet operations’ needs 
  • Manage the daily operations of the maintenance department ensuring compliance, safety, and best practices for corrective and preventative maintenance procedures are followed including accurate completion of maintenance program 
  • Optimize maintenance efficiency to minimize truck & trailer downtime  
  • Determines requirements for spare parts, supplies, and materials inventory and approves the purchase of supplies and spare parts.
  • Establishes standards of performance for each position supervised 
  • Provides supervision and assistance in the repair and maintenance of work in progress. 
  • Manage and Develop time estimates of planned maintenance work 
  • Prepares reports on equipment utilization and status of projects; Maintain all the relevant data into the System ERP  
  • Create, develop and implement maintenance Policies and procedures. 
  • Coordinate, schedule, and audit vehicle maintenance repairs to include preventative, mechanical and electrical repair to tractors, trucks and trailers.
  • Perform regular audits on all sites, trucks, trailers, to ensure maintenance Policies , procedures and working standards are being followed 
  • Manages and analyzes operation and maintenance costs for all fleet unites. .
  • Prepare budget requests, maintains fleet maintenance budget, labor costs, and monitors budget expenditures. 
  • Coach and mentor subordinates and conducting performance review & appraisal meetings 

Job Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • 10-14 years of fleet maintenance management experience in an environment with strong operational metrics (including at least 4 years of supervisory experience.)
  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from reputable university
  • Experience in Mechanical, Hydraulics and Automobile Electricals maintenance
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Management and leadership skills required
  • Experience in planning maintenance operations
  • Must know how to manage maintenance costs

Preferred requirements:

  • Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and ERP Systems preferred

Knowledge Of:

  • Operating and repair characteristics of a variety of heavy automotive equipment.
  • Principles and practices of supervision, coaching and training.
  • Equipment maintenance record keeping systems.
  • Principles of budget and financial policies.

Ability To:

  • Plan and assign the work of equipment mechanics.
  • Develop a comprehensive equipment maintenance program.
  • Diagnose defects and repair a wide variety of heavy automotive equipment.
  • Maintain records and reports.
  • Supervise and train subordinate personnel.
