Job Description

Work responsibility:

  • Ensure stable and reliable Operation for internal operation
  • Day-to-day performance monitoring. 
  • Troubleshooting and fault analysis and repair. 
  • Trouble ticket generation, response, and escalations. 
  • Standard changes implementation via our change control systems and processes. 
  • Participate in a 24x7 call-out rotation.
  • Ticket and standard changes response for customer with valid support contract.
  • Responsible for regular maintenance on databases (e.g., Reindexing, Archiving).
  • Good knowledge of security as it relates to cloud-based infrastructure.
  • Responsible for pro-active remediation of database operational problems.
  • Able to gather relevant information systematically to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Good analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Good attention to detail, testing and documentation
  • Knowledge of ITIL and industry best practices
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer/Communication Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5-7 years working experience in a similar environment
  • Strong background in Unix/Linux operating systems and have shell scripting skills.
  • Install, build, configure and tune database systems and carry out capacity planning.
  • Hands-on experience in administering and maintaining SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Mongo, etc.…).
  • Experienced in upgrading databases and cluster administration.
  • Setting up user’s tools for administration. 
  • Perform routine maintenance on several database environments including application of updates, patches, and hotfixes.
  • Creating databases, migrating database objects from non-production to production environment.
  • Working knowledge of Database Security mechanism, data encryption and auditing.
  • Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL.
  • Measure database performance and troubleshoot database issues, I/O bottlenecks, SQL Tuning.
  • Experience in scripting languages (shell or python or Perl) for automating DBA administrative tasks.
