Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Translates the project concept into an analyzable system.
- Applies engineering principles to analysis; designs and modifies mechanical works like pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers, piping, and tanks.
- Analyzes engineering proposals and related technical data pertaining to mechanical works.
- Coordinates with clients/consultants reviews requirements and comments on engineering issues and recommend solutions.
- Develops designs and details considering costs, material availability, time limitations, company planning, and other economic factors.
- Prepares or directs preparation of design and detailing, drawings and MTOs.
- Analyses the design and reports to determine if the design meets functional and performance specifications.
- Carries out an ‘Optimization’ review of design and details on materials, fabrication time, constructability, and electability.
- Supervises and coordinates engineers’ activities; schedules and estimates task-time requirements to complete job assignments.
- Interprets project scope of work, design details, project specifications, and job requirements to Design engineers, Drafting Section, Estimators, and Quantity Surveyors.
- Recommends solutions for the workshop.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists Design Engineers, Drafting Section, Estimators, and Quantity Surveyors.
- Recommends measures to improve efficiency, quality of Engineering, and Design or Personnel.
Imparts training to new engineers
Job Requirements
- Bachelor/Master’s degree in Mechanical engineering (specialization in Process Equipment Design desirable)
- Thorough knowledge of ASME SEC 1, VIII Div. 1 & 2, API 650, API 620, and Piping stress analysis requirements.
- Capable of performing design, estimation, FEM analysis review, and checking of detailed design calculations for vessels up to a minimum of 100 mm thickness.
- Thorough knowledge of related structural analysis and design for pressure vessels, columns, heat exchangers, and tanks’ support systems.
- Fully conversant with COMPRESS / PVELITE / AMETANK / SOLIDWORKS / ANSYS design software.
- Having experience with Saudi ARAMCO Specifications.
- Excellent communication skills; interpersonal skills; capable of attending technical meetings and effectively presenting technical information.

Experience:
Minimum 8 to 10 years of design experience of 5 years in the design of boilers, pressure vessels, columns, heat exchanges, piping, and storage tanks.
