We are looking for a Medical Billing Specialist who will work with the existing billing team on our billing services expansion maintaining the excellent quality of work.

Responsibilities:

• Timely submission of technical and professional medical claims to insurance companies.
• Obtain referrals and pre-authorizations as required for procedures.
• Eligibility check and benefits verification for treatments, hospitalizations, and procedures.
• Review patient bills for accuracy and completeness and obtaining any missing information.
• Prepare, review and transmitting claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing.
• Review patient records daily for accuracy, supply any missing information and ensure compliance with company policy and government regulations.
• Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe.
• Check each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discount.
• Contact the insurance companies regarding any discrepancy in payments if necessary.
• Identify and bill secondary or tertiary insurances.
• Follow up and appealing for denied claims.
• Answer all patient or insurance telephone inquiries pertaining to assigned accounts.
• Setting up patient payment plans and work collection accounts.
• Update billing software with rate changes.
• Update cash spreadsheets and running collection reports.
• Prepare daily Defect and Denial reports.
