About the role

  • This job will be working out of our spacious and modern office in Nasr City in Cairo.

The Role

  • OctopusPro is currently seeking an experienced Technical Writer to review and develop written documentation tailored to meet our customers needs including procedures, system documentation, user guides, help systems, training manuals, email campaigns, and release notes.
  • You will also take responsibility for the development and execution of the organisation’s Digital and Social Media strategy; keeping social media channels updated and brand focused and executing campaign-related social and digital activity.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, publish and maintain high-quality user manuals and guides for customers to follow so that customers have easy to understand technical information
  • Review and edit technical system documentation, ensuring industry, client and internal quality standards are met
  • Gather all requirements for each feature by liaising with relevant teams to create content that improves the customer experience
  • Create, organise and maintain a comprehensive set of documentation fit for external use (aligned with relevant guidelines) and internal use (such as training materials)
  • Develop end user documentation such as work instructions, user guides, process maps and statements of work
  • Design, develop and communicate documentation standards and methodologies including templates and style guides and navigation of relevant document management system as required
  • Ensure release and version control of documents
  • Work with the Customer Service team to provide recommendations, input and content for training guides and materials
  • Liaise effectively with both technical and management stream staff
  • Work with Testing teams to ensure that every feature has a logical and coherent user guide and support manual that makes it easy for customers to follow
  • Create and monitor a wide variety of email marketing campaigns ensuring design and layouts are optimized, user and mobile-friendly
  • Informal training of technical staff in the use of templates and document control systems
  • Video content creation: creating video content for Youtube and social media channels
  • Develop engaging, creative and innovative content for regularly scheduled posts to promote brand awareness and brand-focused messages
  • Manage Social Media Pages (Facebook, LinkedIn, Website and Blogs) and monitor user engagement

Job Requirements

To be successful in this role you must be/have:

  • Previous proven experience as a Technical Writer (or equivalent role)
  • Experience writing user guide and technical documentation
  • Content creation, copy writing, and infographic production experience
  • Experience in and around email marketing
  • University Degree qualified in a relevant field
  • Highly analytical and a logical thinker
  • Ability to communicate clearly and to simplify technical concepts and explain them
  • Ability to manage own time effectively, take ownership and responsibility for tasks allocated, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to format material to be in line with the audience specific language that is clear and concise for the users to understand
  • A multi-tasking ninja - we expect you to juggle 50 different tasks at once without dropping the ball
  • Tech savvy and ability to use various IT and cloud-based tools to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Ready to challenge, be challenged, and work within our highly disruptive business model
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent English written and verbal skills
  • Good working experience in and around SEO
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics and Adobe Products is greatly preferred
  • Graphics software, video editing, HTML code skills are desirable but not necessary
