  • Serve as a thought leader and strategy driver for the team along with the CEO and founder. Build and embody the company's culture and mission
  • Build, build, build: especially in the early days, you'll be rolling up your sleeves and writing code, from architecture to fixing finicky bugs
  • Recruit a killer team, managing staffing, mentoring, maintaining and bettering a best-in-class engineering team that loves coming into work every day
  • Partner with the business and design teams to understand the customer and shape product vision and requirements
  • Develop the long-term strategy for the company and translate that into an achievable road map
  • Understand how all elements of the software lifecycle work together and develop quality engineering approaches to define the overall architecture
  • Get to know our customer (or know them well already) and use that empathy to inform building an exceptional product

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of the development lifecycle including requirement analysis, strategic planning, design/architecture, execution, deployment, and maintenance
  • Deliver high quality enterprise-grade solutions under aggressive timelines and within budget
  • Expand, lead, and mentor a best-in-class engineering team
  • Create/improve development processes, technology infrastructure, and a culture that enables a geographically dispersed team to collaborate effectively
  • Work closely and in partnership with Product Management, Quality Assurance and Operations teams
  • Executive Leadership - Participate as a key member of the Product Planning Group. 
  • Work in collaboration with other leaders/executives to define the product roadmap and ensure the software engineering team is well aligned with company objectives
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement - Build a culture that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • MS or PhD in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field
  • Strong programming skills with MERN stack & GCP
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in technology leadership, passionate about leading and building advanced AI models and algorithms.
  • 5+ years of strong experience in autonomous platform building blocks such as localization, perception, behavior planning, navigation and controls.
  • Experience leading and motivating engineering teams and managing complex projects
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements
