Job Description

AESG are seeking a passionate and driven Environmental Consultant Ecology, looking for an exciting new opportunity to work within AESGs award winning Environment department. The ideal candidate will have a passion for environmental consultancy services with a willingness to work across multiple environmental disciplines and projects to drive the market towards more environmentally sustainable development.

We are seeking an Environmental Ecologist who has a background in terrestrial or marine (or both) sampling, survey, surveillance, and monitoring. The Environmental Ecologist should have good understanding of Ecosystem Functions and Ecosystems Services as well as Landscape Ecology. The successful candidate will form part of AESGs dynamic Environmental Consultancy division located in our Dubai headquarters.

Essential skills:

• Bachelors degree in Ecology, Marine Biology, Environmental Biology, Landscape Ecology etc.
• Preferably, a Masters Degree or Ph.D.
• Minimum of five (5) years experience across terrestrial or marine ecology with preference to baseline survey or ecological management supporting development
• Experience of ecology in the Middle East and preferably demonstrable experience in KSA/UAE
• A good knowledge of at least one species group (e.g. flora, mammals, corals) for the Middle East
• Strong technical skills across marine or terrestrial ecology including writing and critical review
• Must be field fit and capable of spending short periods in-field (terrestrial and/or marine)
• Advanced qualifications in terrestrial or marine ecology
