Job Description

  • Provide leadership, direction and management to ensure sustained improvement of the lower primary Stage.
  • Share in and support the leadership of the school as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
  • Help lead the school in the policies and practices of continuous school improvement and staff development in relation to the  Lower primary Stage.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to other teachers in their grade level or subject in respect of the teachers' duties ( writing lesson plans, managing classroom behavior and providing after-school tutoring). 
  • Take overall responsibility for the quality and standards of teaching and learning across the lower primary   Stage, this to include providing analysis and reports to the Senior Leadership Team, county advisors and governors as required. 
  • To keep up to date with current developments in teaching and learning and in school improvement in the lower primary Stage and to share this with staff. 
  • To help to formulate the aims and objectives of the  lower primary Stage and policies for their implementation.
  • To play a major role in the development of high quality teaching and learning in the  lower primary Stage. This will include the monitoring of curriculum planning, teachers performance,  and the giving of feedback and advice as well as assisting and supporting colleagues with the planning and delivery of a differentiated curriculum.
  • To lead the  lower primary Stage team in the delivery of a creative and stimulating curriculum.
  • To ensure that the requirements of the  lower primary Stage including arrangements for assessment and moderation are met. This includes the weekly plan, short term plan, long term plan, and the yearly plan regarding stage curriculums and  activities.
  • To ensure appropriate support for individuals and groups of pupils based on assessment data.  To ensure that all the children in the lower primary Stage are able to learn and achieve to the best of their ability.
  • To monitor and evaluate the impact of the policies, practices, targets and priorities in the lower primary Stage, identifying developments needed and working with the senior management Team to achieve them
  • To ensure curricular policy development is focused on continuous improvement.
  • Make a significant contribution to the school’s leadership tasks as a member of the Senior Management Team.
  •  To be an excellent role model of outstanding practice to all staff. 
  • To act as a line manager for all staff in the lower primary Stage including performance management and ensuring individual professional development.
  • To actively develop relationships with parents and the wider community.
  • To manage the day to day staffing of the lower primary Stage.

Job Requirements

  • Has a Bachelor degree in English Language Literature.
  • At least two years of experience as in the same position.
  • Has an experience as English Head of Department for at least 5 years in Foundation stage.
  • Worked as class English teacher for Primary stage.
  • An ability to work effectively under pressure, priorities appropriately and meet deadlines.
  • Good personal presentation and excellent communication skills.
  • An ambitious and diligent professional who can influence, motivate and inspire others.
  • An outstanding classroom practitioner.
  • A team player
  • Have Previous experience in Semi- international schools.
  • Females only.
