MEP Tender Engineer

1. Assign tasks/projects to subordinates based on projects assigned to the Electrical Tendering team.
2. Review tender documents (specs, drawings, Bill of Quantities [BOQ]), make Request for Information (RFI), communicate the inquiries to the client through the Commercial department, and apply modifications (including reflections on pricing) based on client’s responses.
3. Attend pre-tender meetings with the project owner or consultant to obtain an overview on the project and provide feedback to tender manager.
4. Divide the project into packages, create Request for Quotation (RFQ), contact suppliers and subcontractors to obtain price offers, conduct comparison studies for suppliers’ and subcontractors’ quotations, and develop cost estimation in response to the client’s Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and the client’s specific requirements.
5. Conduct site visits either in case of existing/extended projects or to obtain/ validate information about the project’s infrastructure.
6. Create and/or review the technical and commercial proposals prior to sending it to ensure prompt and accurate compliance with the client’s requirements and the tender process specifications, whether technically or financially.
7. Attend negotiation meetings with the client during the pre-award stage to discuss prices or for further clarifications.
8. Revise the project specs and drawings as sent by the client when the project is awarded to identify and communicate back any deviations back and to reflect any modifications on finalized specs and drawings, and hand over all relevant documents to the Operations department, providing guidance whenever needed.
9. Provide guidance and/or direct assistance to subordinates on the cost estimation process and in the preparation of the technical and financial offers for their assigned projects.
