Job Description
- Responsible for CIE Labs which include Communication, Embedded systems, Networking, and Computing laboratories.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and lab supplies.
- Keeping inventory records of equipment, components, and spare parts.
- Spare parts management and identifying critical spare parts and ordering them on time.
- Actively participate in the design and planning stages of new laboratory facilities.
- Initiate and follow up on PRs and work orders, help faculty to specify equipment, components, and materials, suggest suppliers, follow work orders while making intelligent decisions on the fly, and provide feedback to the faculty and the director of the program.
- Create Written Procedures and Take detailed notes.
- Keep the lab and assembly spaces organized, clean and safe.
- Lab equipment software and CAD packages support services not limited to configuration, backup, upgrades, etc... Knowledge of Basic Windows administrative tools, DOS, and Linux.
- Admin Linux machines
- Presenting CIE labs in front of accrediting agencies and public visitors.
- Coordinate the remote access of CIE machines and workstations.
Job Requirements
- Ability to work with a minimum of direct supervision.
- Multi-Tasking, Forward Thinker is a MUST.
- Strong interpersonal skills and written and oral communication in English.
- Organization skills, taking pride and ownership in the workspace to keep it tidy and safe.
- Maintain the highest norms related to Health, Safety & Environmental, and/or all other applicable regulatory requirements
- Have basic knowledge of Linux administration including user account management, system backup and recovery, and system monitoring/ maintenance.
- Ability to install and maintain software programs used in university labs.
- Proven technical support experience is recommended.
- Operation of standard university lab measurement equipment.
- Analytical skills to diagnose problems and devise viable solutions
