Job Description

Retail & Supply Chain Manager:

Delimart is a chain of convenience stores located in various locations inside and outside Cairo. An experienced Retail and Supply- Chain manager is needed for the chain. To handle all of the procurement, contracting and supply chain of the company. The job requirements and all listed below in details.

General:

The retail department is one of the main company’s arteries. It is concerned with and responsible of all the products sold inside our convenience stores and outlets. Starting form product selection and contract negotiations until product display and sales.

Contracting & Suppliers:

  • Negotiating contracts with suppliers that maximize the company’s profitability and best utilize the resources in hand.

KPIs:

  1. Payment Terms
  2. Other revenues
  3. Rebates
  4. Supplier benefits e.g., securing funds from suppliers for store development
  5. Supplier adherence and compliance with our contractual terms
  • Maintaining a healthy relationship with suppliers.
  • Screening for new potential suppliers.
  • Regularly comparing suppliers’ prices (ones that supply the same/similar products)

Products & Sales:

  • Analyzing, reviewing, comparing, and approving products to be purchased.
  • Pricing products in accordance with the company’s strategy and maximizing products’ perceived value to the customer.
  • Conducting market surveys to evaluate the company’s position among competitors and screening for new appropriate products.
  • Working with the marketing department by choosing products that are in line with the company’s brand image and making sure that all products are displayed and presented in a visually attractive manner.
  • Monitoring the performance of suppliers and products.
  • Analyzing sales and profitability of products on a departmental and category level and acting towards improving departments sales and profits.

KPIs: 

  1. Sales per Department 
  2. Sales by category 
  3. Profit percentage per department
  4. Profit percentage per category
  5. Profit percentage per product 
  • Supporting the marketing department’s promotional strategy and working with suppliers to enhance the promotion’s effectiveness.
  • Decreasing waste utilizing different promotional techniques

KPI: Waste percentage (Targets will be set)

Stock Management:

General: 

The aim of this section is to ensure that the supply of products and consumables to Delimart stores is executed in an efficient and productive manner.

Stock Management:

  • Making sure that the supplied stock meets customer demand. (New product, Product availability, Consumable quality, etc.…)
  • Ordering stocks in a way that maximizes profits and enhances stock turnover while also securing the company from potential threats related to product availability in the market.

No overstocks that cause returns and no understocks that cause shortages/ out of stocks. 

KPI: availability of products throughout the year (how many times did this product go out of stock, for how long, and in which stores). Note: A report should be generated regarding this matter.

  • Forecasting future demand for products and ordering accordingly.

KPI: A comprehensive future order list that contains justifiable product ranges and types. This should include seasonality products.

  • Analyzing supply chain data to ensure the uninterrupted availability of stock.

KPI: having a list of substitute suppliers designated for products that are known to inconsistency availability, e.g., imported products. 

  • Performing regular inventory audits.

Assuring that the selling process is executed in the proper procedure (FIFO, products are scanned correctly according to their type and quantities)

KPI: Number of infringements and the rate at which it decreases or increases. 

Securing our company from any theft-related activities.

KPI: Number of discrepancies and their frequency.

  • Working closely with the Marketing department and the Retail section to create strategies to manage expiry dates and developing metrics to monitor product turnover versus expiry date.
  • Working with marketing and retail to promote short-life products (products that would expire soon) 

KPI: Percentage of expired/wasted products from sales (Waste percentage)

  • Communicating with the finance department to determine the optimum stock levels for the company’s cash flow at that specific time.

KPI: Inventory turnover per month/year

  • Create, document, and maintain detailed records of the inventory.
  • Reporting to the commercial manager and taking decisions that support the company’s strategy.
  • Managing stock availability for all online transactions.
  • Overseeing stock storage processes to ensure products are in a good condition

KPI: Damage percentage 

  • Taking responsibility for Ad-hoc bonuses.

KPI: Number and value of Ad-hoc bonuses given per month/Year

Supply Chain: 

  • Insuring efficient (cost and quality) and timely delivery of products and consumables to our stores.
  • Ensuring safe delivery of products to our stores in perfect condition.
  • Drafting a weekly/ monthly supply schedule and communicating that schedule to the involved stakeholders e.g., operations and office management.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in the same or a similar field 
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or business administration (Master's degree would be a plus) 
  • Fluent in English and Arabic
