Job Description

Purpose of the position 

A safety manager works to prevent workplace accidents and promotes health and safety awareness among employees on the site. Responsible for making sure that employees and workers follow safety laws and guidelines. Updates policies for a safer work environment. He must take measures to identify potential workplace hazards and improve existing conditions.

Tasks

  • Directs the resources and activities to support the HSE programs by providing advice and guidance to the Company’s Senior Management.
  • Reviews employee safety programs and set improvements.
  • Develops and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines.
  • Recommends solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures.
  • Inspects equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions.
  • Investigates accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims.
  • Prepare toolbox talk, and safe sequence of work (SSW).
  • Follow-up site works at Toshka and writes reports to management.

Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of +10 years of related work experience in the field of Health and Safety, including some supervisory experience.
  • Must be an OSHA 45 Certificate.
  • Has a know-how about how to prepare a safety plan.
  • Awareness about safety rules of excavation, equipment, PPE, and Tracks.
  • Certified in risk management and health/safety management.
  • Related work experience in Infrastructure projects.
  • Previous experience in a contracting company.
  • Deep understanding of legal health and safety guidelines.
  • Ability in producing reports and developing relevant policies.
