Job Description
- Create or visualize an idea and produce a design/ sketches by hand and using digital drawing software.
- Keep up to date with emerging fashion trends as well as general trends relating to fabrics, colors and shapes
- Liaise closely with sales, buying and production teams on an ongoing basis to ensure items suit the customer, market and price points
- Collaborating with team members to select seasonal themes, make edits to line, and create new concepts
- Selecting fabrics and trims
- Reviewing product for fitting sample during presentation and adapt existing designs to be feasible for mass production
- visit trade shows and manufacturers to source, select and buy fabrics as needed
- Visit stores regularly for feedback during collection launching
- Drive and evolve a Technical Design strategy including operations, methods, protocols, standards, and measures of effectiveness
- Analyzing designs and determining required resources and project deadlines
- Follow up & visit manufacturers regarding models, quantities, colors & delivery dates and reporting back to senior management
- Inspect final & finished products to ensure that they are free from defects
- Handling a range of admin duties.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in fine arts or applied arts or related field
- 2+ years of experience in homewear designs
- In-depth understanding of design principles, fashion, and the fashion industry
- General knowledge in areas such as pattern cutting, grading and garment construction
- Manufacturer management skills & experience with travel possibility
- Excellent design and conceptual skills
- Excellent sense of style and color and Ability to create eye-catching designs
- To enjoy following trends in fashion and clothing
- Must be advanced User in Tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator & sketching
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently
- Accurate and precise attention to detail
