Job Description

  • Leadership responsibility for managing a major segment or specialized area of the firm.
  • Responsibility for planning, direction, control, operations, scheduling and staffing of multiple large teams for the discipline or market.
  • Provides leadership and planning in support of the long range plans and goals for the firm.
  • Responsible for developing the market for prestigious large, complex domestic and international projects/clients.
  • Capable of securing commissions and managing large, complex projects and or multiple mall/moderate projects and directs the work of other architects, engineers, designers and planers, as well as developing a strong business relationship with clients.
  • Responsible for setting the management direction for the project teams and monitoring the overall progress and profitability of the project.
  • Provides leadership and support to the management efforts and long range planning of the firm, with added emphasis on international projects
  • Electrical engineering degree with a minimum of +20 years in the profession, post-graduation. Experience on all phases and aspects of multiple, large and complex projects. Strong and proven knowledge of construction documentation and construction materials. Intermediate graphic, spreadsheet and word processing skills. Basic knowledge of CADD. Professional registration required
  • Overseeing and managing the design activities of the electrical engineering discipline for large complex projects and or multiple small to moderate projects.
  • Responsible for all work produced by the discipline relative to schedule, budgets and quality. Assign projects and tasks to staff consisting of quantity surveyors of various experience levels.
  • Develop manpower forecasts, interview and hire engineering discipline candidates.
  • Responsible for the administration and execution of all project discipline agreements, definition of the scope of work, accountable for project profitability, and development of project work plan.
  • Responsibility also includes the development of department standards and procedures,
  • Responsible for preparing the periodic department training and development plan in coordination with the team leaders.
  • Helps establish and build relationships with clients and providing support for business development efforts including proposals

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an accredited university is required. ( Electrical )
  • Engineering degree with a minimum of 12 years post graduate experience in the design of engineering systems for all types of building facilities.
  • The ability to read, write, and speak English is required. Fluency in a foreign language is considered a benefit for this position.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time.
  • In depth knowledge of engineering principles and practices, conventional technology in the specialized field, Industry Codes and Standards, project design, engineering programs, and construction documentation production and communication skills.
  • Intermediate written and verbal technical communication skills including writing reports, emails, and presentations.
  • Experienced knowledge with engineering deliverables such as datasheets, material specifications, material requisitions, and scope of work.
  • Ability to create electrical power system calculations and understands electrical software for calculating building lighting, street lighting, sportive lighting, earthling, lightning protection, short circuit, motor starting, voltage drop, harmonic current, full selectivity and arc flash.
  • Experienced knowledge of power generation equipment including engines, generator sets, switchgear, variable frequency drives (VFD), motor control center (MCC), transformers, and low current systems.
  • Experienced knowledge with major regulations and international/local codes and standards affecting standard design work in designated discipline. PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite, analytical software (OlAlux, ETAP, Docwin, Matlab, , etc.), computer-aided design software (Aut0CAD, Revit, etc.).
