Job Description

What is your role?

The Finance Manager heads the local financial team. He will be focused on developing and implementing a stable, future proof financial department within the company and is responsible for all the accounting and financial management affairs of Egypt. 

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Manage the financial team and continuously develop direct reports.
  • Manage the finance department, including reviewing payments.
  • Report regularly and informatively both to the local organization and to the Netherlands HQ
  • Create budgets, financial planning, and business cases when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with local (financial and tax) regulations. 
  • Optimize funding and incentives. This would include negotiation with banks as well as authorities.
  • Provide input on strategic direction, such as finding opportunities to cut costs or increase margins. 
  • Support the GM in tracking progress of implementation on the Strategic Initiatives.
  • Risk management and internal controls.
  • Management of external audits.

Job Requirements

What do we expect from you?

The FM needs to be highly organized and confident in initiating, leading, and implementing projects. As this company will go through a merger (project) phase, the FM needs to be able and willing to be ‘hands on’ when required. Highly motivated, objective and pragmatic with persistence and ability to thrive under pressure and changing circumstances.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • A degree in Finance or Accounting. An MBA is an advantage.
  • At least 7-10 years of experience in a financial role with significant experience in a leading role.
  • Excellent command of English.
  • High integrity
  • An entrepreneurial and strategic mindset.
  • Team orientation with strong people skills to get the most out of his team.
  • Discipline of planning, organizing, and managing resources to reach goals.
  • Team orientation and results focus.
  • A background in the food production, manufacturing or agriculture sector is preferred. 
  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases.
  • Experience with treasury and bank relations.
