CCTV Operator

Job Objective & Responsibilities:
• Ensuring the security and safety of building tenants and personnel
• Ensuring the assigned tasks are completed in a professional and timely manner and meet relevant legislation.

Key responsibilities:
Apply and conduct oneself at all times in accordance with the site Assignment and Emergency Instructions:

• To maintain the appropriate and optimum usage of the CCTV system.

• Operating and monitoring all surveillance security systems/cameras within the Control Centre in an efficient manner and in compliance with the operating procedures, legislation, and best practice. 

• To add – remove – edit whitelisted/blacklisted car license plates to the system • To add – remove – edit blacklisted FR suspect images to the system 

• To add – remove – edit white-listed FR images for guests/personnel/employees to the Access Control system • Recording all events, incidents, and actions taken in a clear, legible, and accurate written format. 

• To maintain a secure system for providing data in accordance with the regulations and to ensure the security of the control room and equipment is always maintained and to report equipment failure to the Physical Security Manager or Management immediately. 

• Liaising with the other security teams and members of staff to ensure the appropriate use of the CCTV system and to include all evidential records to a standard acceptable to the rules of evidence.

• To be able to monitor and operate the CCTV system, ensuring fully functioning recording, when licensed so to do.

• To monitor and assist where possible the security staff in the detection, recognition, and identification of any person found committing an offense.

• Comply with the data protection act and ensure that only authorized persons are permitted in Control Room and that all sensitive information remains controlled.

• Ensure that security procedures are always followed and keep records and logs fully up to date.
• Log all incidents and events in the log book.

• Physically control equipment during operational hours and adhere to requests by security to observe individuals /parties’ actions.

• Maintain absolute confidentiality regarding tenant information and company information records of data collected and used in the course of your job functions.

• Maintain the perimeter security and integrity of the building constantly, particularly throughout nonoperational hours, interrogating all visitors to satisfy their authority to be on site.

• Notify the Security Manager immediately of any unusual occurrence, breach of security, regulation, or emergency situation.
