Job Description
- Negotiating the best prices with the vendors to ensure the procurement of goods & services at the optimized cost.
- Overseeing procurement
- Implementing cost reduction initiatives.
- Capacity planning of Vendors & ensuring strategic sourcing of materials in the areas having concern.
- Handling budgeting of purchasing activities
- Establishing & implementation of new systems.
- Minimizing demurrage & overstocking towards better inventory control.
- Developing new vendors in the coordination Marketing team for new product/category developments.
- Developing subordinates to shoulder higher responsibilities.
- Undertaking supplier risk evaluation & de-risk the necessary areas.
- Taking active participation with value addition in the process designing
- Handling internal & external audits.
- Overseeing inventory management & periodical review of slow-moving / non-moving inventory to avoid blockage of working capital.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 6 years as Purchasing Manager (preferably chicken procurement) in a temperature-controlled Food/FMCG environment
- An understanding of contractual terms and conditions is essential.
- Team player who is sensitive to and appreciative of cultural differences and the benefits of a diverse work environment.
- Sound knowledge of supplier markets and able to articulate valued propositions.
- Familiar with developing and implementing procurement and contract strategies.
- Excellent negotiation skills are a pre-requisite.
- Proficient in both verbal and written communication, particularly in English. Arabic is an advantage.
