Job Description

1: Contribute to the project planning and integrated budget definition & review of results 1 and 3

  • Participate to the planning process under the supervision of the PM and to its regular review
  • Produce monthly work plan based on project planning and report achievements during weekly team meeting
  • Collect data for documenting indicators under supervision of the PM
  • Actively participate to weekly project team meetings
  • Report to the PM
  • Participate to the project monitoring (mid-term review and final review) 

 2: In close collaboration with the PM, contribute to the implementation and monitoring of the project and its partner for activities under result 1 and 3

  • Build the capacity of the MSWGs members, in close collaboration with the PM and RTU on participatory assessment methodologies, livelihoods analysis, vulnerability and resilience, market analysis
  • Support the MSWG to commission a study on the socio-economic profile of vulnerable HHs and the factors constraining their capacity to generate income
  • Support the MSWG to discuss the results of the study and to identify potentials for vulnerable HHs to improve income generation
  • Support the participatory assessment undertaken by the MSWG and/or the commission of a market analysis, of market opportunities in target areas and outside (ex. Cairo), including fair trade, potentially accessible by vulnerable HHs
  • In close collaboration with the PM and RTU, select the most suitable and feasible opportunities and participatory identification of the most efficient production and marketing of available local resources to support local production by vulnerable HHs
  • Support the MSWG to mobilize these local resources and to facilitate the creation of partnerships between local entrepreneurs and CSOs supporting vulnerable HHs, with a focus on facilitating a partnership with El-Ber for the support to HHs living with disabilities
  • Support the MSWG to manage two sub-grant mechanisms to provide financial support to the stimulation of local production initiatives (including consultancies to improve product design, quality and access to markets) and to support the inclusion of vulnerable HHs with disabilities
  • Analyze vulnerability factors and disability related barriers/facilitators to livelihoods faced by identified HHs
  • Develop HHs’ action plans in close collaboration with EL Ber
  • Accompany HHs in the implementation of their action plan: business coaching, basic life skills training, referral/support to access livelihoods services
  • support access of targeted HHs to the sub-grant mechanisms managed by the MSWG and to local trainers / mentors
  • Facilitate peer-to-peer support and formal collaboration between targeted HHs

3: Contribute to the development of methodologies and tools for the project and to their implementation

  • Contribute to the identification of the tools needed for implementing the project activities and to their development
  • After using the tool and based on the feedback from partner and beneficiaries, proceed to tools adjustment
  • Mobilize authorities/ external stakeholders for facilitating project implementation and inform them regularly about the progress made and the challenges faced
  • Develop activity sheets including budget for activities
  • Liaise with logistics and finance department as per the procedures in place to undertake purchase & expenditures as required for activities implementation 
  • Participate to the development of case studies

 4: Contribute to project lesson learnt and promotion at governerate and national level

  • Collect data as per the framework defined and requested by the PM
  • Input in the identification and analysis of the project good practices 
  • Participate to the organization of dissemination workshops

Job Requirements

  • Educational background required
  • University Degree in the field of business administration, commerce, economics and/or social work, or equivalent working experience
  • Minimum of 5 years practical experience in development, and minimum of 3 years in community-based projects and profound expertise on rural and urban livehoods with proven field-oriented attitude
  • Minimum 3 years experience in facilitating trainings and conducting participatory assessments and livelihood studies.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience working with local/community livelihood services providers and entrepreneurs.
  • Minimum of 2 years practical experience in working with vulnerable groups in economic inclusion
  • Work in disability sector is an asset
  • Special ease at collaborative work, participatory approach
  • Positive and constructive personality, very composed, solution-oriented and with a high level of professional maturity
  • Willingness to operate in remote and informal area
