Job Description
The Competitive Intelligence Officer is a member of the planning sector team; responsible for helping the organization make effective decisions about future actions. He or She will participate in complex strategy projects, working with senior leaders across the organization. Typical projects could include strategy development, analyzing opportunities for partnerships/acquisitions, market entry or exit, market segmentation, product / customer positioning and profitability decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and profile competitors and competitive products
- Conduct market research for donor behavior insights and market dynamics.
- Conduct primary and secondary market research activities to study competitor software, financials, marketing, pricing and sales tactics
- Review market and competitor data to uncover market opportunities and address business issues.
- Support survey design and programming in online survey tool.
- Attend trade shows and business intelligence events to collect competitor’s data
- Gather, analyze and sort competitor’s information.
- Distill complex information down into clear, actionable insights for senior management
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study (Master’s degree is a plus)
- 3- 5 years of experience in similar position
- Strong quantitative and qualitative problem-solving skills
- Strong work-ethic with ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines
- Ability to clearly articulate ideas, both written and oral, to internal and external audiences
- Excellent critical-thinking skills with ability to structure and solve complex business problems
- Interpersonal and consultative skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
