Job Description: Finance OfficerRoles & Responsibilities:As a Finance Officer, your primary responsibilities include:1. Petty Cash and Bank Transactions: Manage petty cash funds and process bank transactions accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to company policies and procedures.2. Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records, identifying and resolving any discrepancies in a timely manner.3. Supplier Invoices: Verify and post supplier invoices accurately, matching them with purchase orders and receipts, and ensuring timely payment processing in coordination with the accounts payable team.4. Accounts Payable Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts payables on a regular basis, ensuring that all outstanding invoices are properly accounted for and resolved.5. Advance Monitoring: Monitor and track advances given to suppliers, ensuring proper documentation and timely settlement in accordance with company policies.6. Coordination with Procurement and Stores: Collaborate with the procurement and stores teams to ensure smooth processing of invoices, accurate recording of inventory transactions, and timely resolution of any discrepancies.7. VAT Return Filing: Provide relevant information and support for VAT return filing, ensuring compliance with VAT regulations and timely submission of required documentation.8. Audit Support: Interact with internal and external auditors during audit processes, providing necessary documentation, explanations, and assistance to ensure successful completion of audits.9. Reporting: Prepare financial reports and statements as required by management, providing accurate and timely financial information for decision-making purposes.10. Supervision: Report to the Chief Accountant and collaborate with other members of the finance team, providing support and assistance as needed to achieve departmental objectives.Desired Candidate Profile:The ideal candidate for this role should possess the following qualifications and skills:- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Commerce, with a strong understanding of accepted accounting practices and principles.- Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry, reconciliation, and reporting.- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with the ability to create and analyze financial data using spreadsheets.
