WinchGo is a premier towing and recovery service provider, operating across several cities in the United States. We are dedicated to maintaining a reliable and efficient fleet of tow trucks and equipment. We are seeking a skilled Remote Mechanic Engineer or Diesel Mechanic to join our team and support our operations.
Job Summary:
The Remote Mechanic Engineer / Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on our fleet of tow trucks and related equipment. The role requires a strong background in diesel mechanics and the ability to work independently in a remote setting, providing critical support to ensure our fleet operates safely and efficiently.
- Perform diagnostic tests to identify mechanical issues with diesel engines, transmissions, and other systems.
- Determine repairs and maintenance on tow trucks, including engine overhauls, brake repairs, electrical system diagnostics, and hydraulic system maintenance.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of vehicles and equipment.
- Perform regular inspections and routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
- Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for on-site mechanics and drivers.
- Use diagnostic software and tools to assist with identifying and resolving mechanical issues.
- Ensure all maintenance and repairs comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.
- Order and manage inventory of parts and supplies needed for maintenance and repairs.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts.
- Prepare and submit reports on fleet maintenance and performance to the Fleet Manager.
- Provide training and guidance to on-site drivers on proper maintenance and repair techniques.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in diesel technology and repair methods.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience (5+ years) as a diesel mechanic or mechanic engineer, with a focus on towing or heavy-duty vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to work independently and remotely, with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and technical support skills.
- Proficient in using diagnostic software and other mechanical tools.
