Job Description
- Plans, implements and promotes alumni programs.
- Partner with Director of Admissions to spearhead the introduction of alumni involvement in the admissions process; partner with the Dean of Student Services to plan the growth and accessibility of career networking services for students and alumni
- Strategic planning for the direction of the alumni office.
- Creating and broadening alumni programs and in planning reunion events.
- Organizes reunions for alumni members.
- Arranges networking events.
- Attends national and international events for alumni communities.
- Assists with the planning and coordination of special events for alumni and serves as liaison SU’s Alumni Association.
- Organizing Job Fairs and career development counseling for SU graduates.
- Helps in creating fundraising campaigns.
- Encourages donations to support bursaries, research and university development.
- Plans, coordinates, and implements alumni fundraising efforts.
- Ensures accurate and complete alumni database records; captures contact, biographical and career information of alumni via surveys, projects (e.g. alumni directory), correspondence, website, postal returns, etc.
- Establishes and builds relationships with a wide range of alumni, locally, regionally, nationally and internationally; maintain regular communication with alumni via direct contact, email blasts, alumni web pages, and print publications.
- Oversees alumni communications, including writing/editing of alumni newsletters and/or magazines.
- Keeps the department’s media contact list up to date and is responsible for following up with media contacts after the college sends press releases.
- Manages the relationship between the institution and the graduates.
- Operating an alumni magazine/newsletter
- Promoting the alumni community to current students
- Responsibility for the alumni website and online community
- Communicating with university departments and local businesses to arrange benefits packages for alumni members.
- Oversees and maintains alumni database.
- Providing content and carrying out editorial duties for the alumni publication
- Issues student graduation certificates, replacement certificates, and new copies of transcripts
- Verification of education letters and academic references via the Alumni Relations Team.
Job Requirements
- At least 3 years of related work experience.
- Excellent Command of English.
- Good communication and customer orientation skills.
- Strong facility and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.)
- Experience of university administration or marketing duties.
- Have a good experience in event management.
