Job Description

  • To be fully aware of both Foundation’s activity in detail and have a hands-on approach to the Foundation’s initiatives
  • Participate with the Board of Trustees in enhancing the vision and strategic plan to guide the Foundations from success to success
  • Identify, assess, and inform the Board of Trustees of internal and external issues that affect the Foundations and come with alternative propositions and recommendations
  • Act as a professional advisor and implementer to the Board of Trustees on all aspects of the Foundation ‘s activities
  • Foster effective team work between the Board and the Executive Manager and between the Executive Manager and staff (in Egypt the Foundation has two staff and in the US it relies on one staff and third parties)
  • Work together with the Foundation’s Team in the US and UK to achieve the overall Foundation’s goals and objectives
  • Act as a spokesperson for the Foundation
  • Conduct official correspondence on behalf of the Board as appropriate and draft correspondences for the board when needed
  • Represent the organization at community activities to enhance the Foundation’s community profile
  • Oversee the planning, implementation and evaluation of the Foundation’s programs and services with the latter on a monthly basis
  • Ensure that the programs and services offered by the Foundation contribute to the Foundation’s mission and reflect the priorities of the Board
  • Monitor the day-to-day delivery of the programs and services of the Foundation to maintain or improve quality
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, execution and evaluation of special projects decided by the board
  • Work with staff and finance to prepare a comprehensive budget
  • Work with the Board to secure adequate funding for the operation of the Foundation both internally and externally
  • Will oversee relations with US and Egypt government regulations governing NGO’s
  • Research funding sources, oversee the development of fund raising plans and write funding proposals to increase the funds of the Foundation
  • Participate in fundraising activities as appropriate
  • Approve expenditures within the authority delegated by the Board
  • Ensure that sound bookkeeping and accounting procedures are followed
  • Administer the funds of the Foundation according to the approved budget and monitor the monthly cash flow of the Foundation
  • Hire social researcher in Egypt to conduct periodical research that covers needy families and special cases for financial aid and research to help needy people medically, such as surgeries, medication, check-ups and through the Medical Centre.
  • Oversee the Shafik Gabr Medical and Social Development Center which will have extensive medical staff for free treatment and social development programs.
  • Update and develop Foundation’s written material brochures, websites and communication material including fund-raising packages and recruitment package.
  • Participate in community development by developing governmental buildings such as government schools. Also through sports activities and cultural trips for students
  • Promote all EIEF services and membership
  • Maintain relationship with Egyptian and Foreign investors
  • Maintain members’ electronic database and ensure regular updates are done accurately and on time
  • Expand Egypt’s International Economic Forum (EIEF) Membership base and recruit new members
  • Promote and sell adverts in the Egypt’s International Economic Forum (EIEF) web-site and annual membership directory
  • Promote sponsorships of Egypt’s International Economic Forum (EIEF) events and publications in general among all members
  • Provide support and assistance in all events and conferences organized by the Forum

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree from a four-year accredited university
  • Knowledge of leadership and management principles as they relate to non-profit/ voluntary organizations
  • 10 years’ experience in non-governmental or similar work
  • Good experience in intergovernmental relations
  • Knowledge of all provincial legislation applicable to voluntary sector organizations
  • Good connections with governmental and non-governmental entities
  • Excellent English and Arabic written and spoken capabilities
  • Excellent managerial skills and presentation capabilities
  • Previous traveling experience to the US or UK is a plus
