Job Overview:
We are looking for an ambitious Junior Accountant to provide support to the accounting department by managing daily accounting/administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is expected to be details oriented, analytical, have strong problem-solving skills, able to hit the ground running, work within a team environment, and take initiative when needed.
Main Duties:
- Post and process journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
- Assist the accounting manager to provide manage invoices, payments, and receipts.
- Review and track payments every month.
- Assist the accounting manager in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings.
- Assist with reviewing expenses, payroll records, etc. as assigned.
- Accurately perform daily reconciliations of cash, check and credit card transactions, and tally and file invoices.
- Assist in financial and tax audits.
- Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed.
- Responsible for handling opening new bank accounts for the new hires and send them to our accounting manager.
- Manage office equipment and supplies, and ordering new equipment and supplies as needed.
- File and update contact information of suppliers and external partners.
- Oversee facilities services, and maintenance activities as needed.
- Maintain proper communication with all governmental associations (social insurance offices, labor office, & medical insurance authority) and ensure compliance with governmental and Egyptian labor law standards.
- Confer with the human resources department to provide assistance with personnel tasks as needed.
- Review monthly attendance and leaves reports including overtime, working days, deductions, sick leaves, and official vacations that will reflect on employees’ salary and manage vacations yearly settlements.
- Ensure archive and filing of all documents and reports related to the department.
- Ensure compliance with organizational guidelines and procedures and regulations.
- Assist other departments as needed.
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports.
Job Requirements
- BS in accounting or relevant field.
- 0-2 years of related experience.
- Males only
- Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with relevant computer software.
- Experience in ERP especially Quick Box is a BIG plus.
- Excellent English is written and verbal communication skills.
- Hard worker, passionate, and an excellent team player.
- Excellent organizing and time management abilities.
