Job Description

Main Duties:

  • Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
  • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Summaries current financial status by collecting information; preparing a balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
  • Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  • Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Knowledge of computer applications, university accounting systems, and general financial applications.
  • High level ability to remain focused, attend to detail, meet deadlines, and perform efficiently and effectively under pressure, as well as the ability to independently determine priorities
  • Secures financial information by completing database backups

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 3 years work experience in the accounting field
  • High proficiency with MS Office, specifically Excel
  • Effective written and oral communication skills in English
