Job Description
- Be responsible for the welfare, safety and educational achievements of students; become familiar with and use curriculum as outlined by the “Curriculum Guide”.
- Maintain a clean, orderly and attractive Montessori environment including upkeep and inventory of materials. Budget and procure materials required or that need replacement
- Be responsible for daily supervision, training and evaluation of assistant. Especially Montessori Compass completion tasks.
- Complete and maintain all records, reports, evaluations, inventories and students tests in a timely manner as may be required by the school.
- Demonstrate positive role modelling and peaceful behaviors.
- Provide for parent conferences, meetings and communication throughout school year in accordance with school policy.
- Plan and coordinate events/academic calendar.
- Conduct new student interviews and participate in the admissions process as described by school policy.
- Call to the attention of the Principal/Head any students with special difficulties or needs and be prepared to discuss with parents.
- Meet with Associate Principal for planning.
- Coordinate curriculum and implementation with specialty teachers.
- Coordinate curriculum and implementation with same level directness from other classes
Job Requirements
- AMS Montessori certification required at Primary and Lower Elementary levels.
- Evidence of previous teaching at level requesting employment.
- Montessori Certified applicants are highly recommended and preferred.
- Excellent English reading and writing.
- English fluency is recommended.
