Job Description

Job purpose:

  • We are currently searching for DevOps engineers in Spirula contributes to the hard work, dedication, and persistence of Spirula’s technical team in a geeky work environment. They experience intense aspects of resolving technical issues by applying their own creative problem-solving techniques.
  • Duties and responsibilities:

  • Deploying, automating, maintaining and managing AWS cloud based production system, to ensure the availability, performance, scalability and security of productions systems.

  • Build, release and configuration management of production systems.

  • Pre -production Acceptance Testing to help assure the quality of our products / services.

  • System troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains.

  • Suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements.

  • Evaluate new technology options and vendor products.

  • Ensuring critical system security through the use of best in class cloud security solutions.

Working conditions

  • This is a Full time job, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week.

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in the same field.
  • Education and certificates are appreciated, especially the ones containing practical exams. But we also understand certifications as being only a proof of knowledge. In short, a knowledgeable non-certified candidate is more appreciated than a not-so-knowledgeable certified candidate.
  • Self-managed and self-motivated.
  • Time management skills.
  • Team player, but can also work individually as needed.
  • High learning curve.
  • Problem solving skills Ability to analyze and resolve complex infrastructure resource and application deployment issues
  • Ability to work under pressure and respond to emergency situations efficiently.

Specialized knowledge:

  • Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration.
  • Good working experience of iptables, LAMP/LEMP stacks, and Linux package management systems.
  • Good working experience of Ruby stacks on Linux, software RAID, LVM, and NFS.
  • Good understanding of networking, HTTP, DNS, RDBMS, and servers hardware.
  • Good understanding of file systems, load balancing, email delivery systems, virtualization, software containers and cloud computing.
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using either Ansible, Puppet, Chef or an equivalent
  • A working understanding of code and script (Bash, PHP, Python, Perl and/or Ruby)
  • Monitoring Tools: Experience with system monitoring tools (e.g. Nagios )
  • Practical skills of technical documentation and research, analytical problem solving quick learning, working with a minimum amount of supervisions and being in direct contact with the customers.
  • Hands-on experience with server clustering, continuous integration tools, configuration management tools and automated deployment tools.
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services.
