Job Description

  • Responsible for all raw material planning and procurement activities supporting manufacturing
  • Ensures materials are available to meet production schedules.
  • Maintains adequate levels of material in support of the manufacturing organization while adhering to inventory objectives.
  • Ensure Materials Requirements Planning system (MRP) is maintained commensurate with the Master Production Schedule.
  • Insures compliance with all applicable requirements and procedures.
  • Develop strategies for maintaining supply of raw materials at lowest cost with least business risk (safety stock, consignment, VMI, lead times, order qty’s, etc.).
  • Establish, build, and maintain relationships with all key suppliers.
  • Analyze and recommend solutions for all issues relating to supplier’s performance based on quality, delivery, price, and overall effectiveness to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Review and resolve any discrepancies with supplier invoices, grievances, claims, conflicts, product non-conformance or quality issues.
  • Create and implement tools such as KPI’s, scorecards and road-maps to achieve targets.
  • Provide raw material projections to key suppliers/sources to ensure product availability on a timely basis.
  • Provide the Numbers Team with periodic raw material costs to assist in maintaining product costing, and projected raw material and finished goods costs.
  • In conjunction with sourcing, arrange supplier meetings to review business needs and resolve any problems or issues as needed.
  • Communicate all pertinent issues and concerns regarding suppliers, raw materials, and finished goods to all appropriate staff.
  • Assist in creating and maintain accountability for department budget.
  • Develop and maintain supply chain partnerships with key suppliers
  • Manage process for understanding business risk related to purchased parts and implement plans to mitigate high risk areas.
  • Manage the resources of the procurement department and all personnel related issues.
  • Create purchase orders for raw materials in support of ongoing operations and projects. Coordinate order confirmations, monitor deliveries delivery dates. Expedite POs when necessary.
  • Manage administrative, order related tasks, e.g. order process for return shipments, reconciliations for mismatching quantities on invoices, missing shipping documents.

Job Requirements

  • Strong Communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Strong experience in using ERP system.
